NORTHERN TERRITORY
This tropical territory is a haven for the nature tourist, with such attractions as Ayres Rock, Kakadu National Park, The Olgas. The Northern Territory is renowned for its Aboriginal art. Impressive rock paintings and engravings are featured in Arnhem Land and through out Central Australia.
DARWIN
Capital of the tropical north, Darwin hosts many tourist oriented activities. The Darwin Crocodile farm is a must see. Art galleries and performing arts venues operate in Darwin.
AYRES ROCK
One of Australia's most impressive land-marks and a popular subject with photographers at sunrise and sunset when the colours of the rock change dramatically. Twenty kilometres to the north-west of Ayres Rock, Yulara Tourist Resort is a comprehensive tourist facility.
KAKADU NATIONAL PARK
Kakadu national park is located 150 kilometres east of Darwin and contains a wide variety of wildlife. Aboriginal paintings, vast scenic landscape, waterfalls and river cruises entice campers and tourists from Darwin and elsewhere.
KATHERINE
Katherine is 300 kilometres south of Darwin and is the tourist base for the many magnificent attractions of the region including Katherine Gorge, Cutta Cutta Caves and Springvale Homestead.

Weather in Australia

Australia's weather can differ greatly from state to state. Even in the hottest part of summer the south eastern states can experience quite cold weather. Although it doesn't happen every year. It has been known to snow in the snowy mountains of New South Wales, Victoria & Tasmania in the middle of summer. Winter is very cold in the eastern states of NSW, VIC and TAS and yet it is very pleasant around the tropical ranges of Queensland. Head wear is a must on sunny days and care should be taken to not get sun burn.

Airport Transfers

Airport transfer shuttle buses operate out of most airports right around Australia. Cost can be a little as $5 per person. Taxi's are readily available at every airport. Cost varies depending on travelling distance.

    Driving

    In Australia we drive on the left hand side of the road . Speed limits in housing or business areas is a maximum 60 kph, unless speed signs advise other. National speed on country roads is maximum 100 kph and 110 kph on marked freeways. Seat belts are mandatory. All states have Random Breath Testing (Blood Alcohol Level of 0.05 max.)
